About Us
It began with a boy
In the year 2000, Leanna Brewer traveled with her husband, Troy, to Uganda, East Africa. There, on the crowded streets of Kampala, they met a 10-year-old boy named Colin. With a quiet determination, Colin took them by the hand and led them to the place he called home—an alleyway where a wooden pallet served as his bed.
Leanna had heard the statistics: millions of children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic and decades of war. But it wasn’t until Colin looked into her eyes, tears falling as he said he was hungry, that the crisis became heartbreakingly real.
“When Colin showed me the pallet in the alley and told me he was hungry, everything changed,” Leanna recalls. “In that moment, the orphan crisis wasn’t just a statistic—it was a child. And I knew I had to do something.”
That moment sparked a movement.
From that encounter, SPARK Worldwide was born. What began with a boy has grown into a global mission—serving, protecting, and raising kids in some of the most vulnerable places on earth. And every person who joins in this mission helps ignite hope where there was none.
Together, we can be the SPARK that brings help to hurting, hungry, and hopeless children across the globe.

Yet for nearly 1 in 4 people around the world, clean water is out of reach. Every day, over 800 children under age 5 die from preventable diseases linked to unsafe water, poor sanitation, and lack of hygiene.
In many communities, children—especially girls—walk miles each day just to collect water that isn’t even clean. This robs them of their health, education, and childhood.
But together, we can change that.
When we provide a well or water system to a village, it transforms everything. Children stay healthy. Girls go to school. Families grow food. Entire communities thrive.
Clean water isn’t a luxury—it’s a lifeline.
